Continuing the final chapter of the Toronto Star Investigation into human trafficking Part 8: Justice System Fails Survivors. Over the past ten years since human trafficking became a crime, only 34 convictions have been made in Canada. In Ontario, over the past year the majority of allegations of human trafficking (250) were reduced to assault, stayed, dismissed, withdrawn or acquitted.
